Systrafoss is a waterfall on the Fossá river, which flows from Systravatn over the mountain edge into a small canyon at the western side of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. The lower waterfall is close to the village, while a trail continues uphill toward Systravatn.

Why it matters
The name means Sisters' Falls and refers to the convent founded at Kirkjubær in 1186. Fossasteinn, a large boulder low in the gorge, fell from the mountain during a severe thunderstorm in 1830.
